There are so...Thanks Heather, great work as always. There are so many connections in these old New England families. It must be partly a result of having so many children and like families attending the same churches and activities together. I wouldn't be surprised to hear some marriages were arranged and so many appear to be from convenience when a spouse dies young and the need for 2 heads of house. To the best of my knowledge there are still Putnams farming in Charlestown NH area today. Mary Putnam is the sister of my 7x great grandmother Elizabeth Putnam who married George Flint. Ruth Putnam is the daughter of Seth Putnam and Ruth Whipple (my first cousin 10x removed in the Whipple line), the granddaughter of Thomas Putnam and Ann Carr, the great granddaughter of Thomas Putnam and Ann Holyoke, and the 2x great granddaughter of John Putnam and Priscilla Gould. I have lots of Salem ancestors, and many Putnam marriages in my tree, too, just like you. Thomas Putnam and Ann Carr had a daughter named Ann Putnam, who was one of the "afflicted girls" who accused many Salem residents of witchcraft.
