He...Michael...I can add a little bit more for you. He was born, in Halifax, NS on 1 Jan 1864 and died 24 Oct 1948. He & his wife, Mary G. BOUTILIER (born 15 Dec 1866, Halifax, NS. Her parents were listed on their marriage certificate (married 1 Jan 1885, Halifax, NS - Registration year 1885, Book 1817, page 232, entry #1 - obtained from Nova Scotia Archives) as John & Sophia. His parents are listed as James & Sophia. On the marriage certificate, his last name is spelled TOUGHFTS (guess someone thought that was how Tufts was spelled!). They immigrated to the US in 1888 (according to the declaration on the 1910 census) and had children John H. (Howard was the middle name); Walter R., Grace and Ray S. A further child was born in 1887 but was stillborn. Hope this helped a little!Tufts Kinsmen Newslettershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06284352394872865914noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2606411506507983809.post-48649038579047294812016-09-23T19:06:08.640-07:002016-09-23T19:06:08.640-07:00Micheal, A couple records I saw on ancestry sugges...Micheal, A couple records I saw on ancestry suggest his father was from Scotland and mother named Mary MacInnis. I have no records of Scottish Tufts so please if you find him pass along the tale for everyone to enjoy. It's possible they come from another known Tufts clan of England or Ireland but DNA may be necessary for that. I know other immigrant lines trying to do that as well.Thomas W Tuftshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08713754079648330007noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2606411506507983809.post-34173745051764329332016-09-23T17:50:14.259-07:002016-09-23T17:50:14.259-07:00I'll look aroundI'll look aroundThomas W Tuftshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08713754079648330007noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2606411506507983809.post-42715036006511284772016-09-18T05:15:47.746-07:002016-09-18T05:15:47.746-07:00doing research for a friend on Robert Saint Clair ...doing research for a friend on Robert Saint Clair Tufts possibly born in Halifax b 1864 d Massachusetts 1948 married Mary Batel or Mary Batelici I am at a dead end any connections?Michaelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08892782857359146138noreply@blogger.com
